SmartClean is a macOS optimization and cleaning utility. It enhances system performance, frees up disk space, and keeps your Mac running efficiently.

This feature encompasses two main aspects:

  • Machine Monitoring: Focuses on CPU, RAM, and temperature.
  • Machine Cleaning: Removes unwanted files and frees up disk space.

The SmartClean feature provides two scanning options:

1. Optimization Scan: Conducts a comprehensive system scan to build a status, and notably updates the amount of junk files that can be deleted.

  • After completing an Optimization scan, you may receive various alerts affecting your machine, such as Running Slow or High Temperature.

2. Quick Clean Up: This feature rapidly scans and cleans all files designated for auto-clean within the application's preferences, including Caches, Logs, Downloads, and Trash

  • By default, Quick Clean only cleans caches and log junk file types.

If you experience a CPU or RAM overload, the application alert will direct you to the SmartClean page. From there, you can access the relevant section (CPU or RAM) to review the process and take action.
