Applies to: Intego ONE for Mac
If the uninstaller fails, shows an error, or leaves files behind after removing Intego ONE, these steps should help. Only move to the next step if the previous one didn't help.
| Important — Don't try to uninstall Intego ONE by dragging it to the Trash. This doesn't fully remove the app — it leaves system extensions and other files behind, which can cause issues later. Always use the built-in uninstaller below. |
❶ Restart your Mac, then use the built-in uninstaller
- Go to the Apple menu > Shut Down, wait 30 seconds, then turn your Mac back on.
- Relaunch Intego ONE.
- Go to Help > Uninstall Intego ONE and follow the prompts, entering your Mac admin password when requested (this may be requested twice, to also remove system extensions).
- Confirm the app, its files, and its icon are fully removed.
➋ Manual uninstall via Terminal (Complete Uninstall)
If the built-in uninstaller still won't fully remove Intego ONE, you can run the following commands manually. This removes the application, all its components, your Intego user data, and the Network System Extension.

Important —
|
- Open Terminal (Applications > Utilities > Terminal).
- Run each command below in order:
sudo /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/Intego\ Engines.app/Contents/MacOS/com.intego.antimalware.engine.app/Contents/MacOS/com.intego.antimalware.engine uninstall --remove-users-data
sudo /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/Intego\ Engines.app/Contents/MacOS/com.intego.cleaning.engine.app/Contents/MacOS/com.intego.cleaning.engine uninstall --remove-users-data
sudo /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/Intego\ Engines.app/Contents/MacOS/com.intego.vpn.engine.app/Contents/MacOS/com.intego.vpn.engine uninstall --remove-users-data
sudo /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/Intego\ Engines.app/Contents/MacOS/com.intego.general.engine.app/Contents/MacOS/com.intego.general.engine uninstall --remove-users-data
sudo /Applications/Intego.app/Contents/MacOS/uninstall --remove-users-data
- Enter your Mac administrator password whenever prompted (in Terminal, and again in up to two system dialogs).
- Once all five commands complete, restart your Mac to confirm Intego ONE and its extensions are fully removed.
Still not resolved?
If Intego ONE still won't fully uninstall after restarting and retrying, submit a request and include:
- The exact error message, if any
- At what point the uninstall fails — right away, partway through, or completes but leaves files behind
- Whether any Intego processes still appear in Activity Monitor
- Your macOS version
