Applies to: Intego ONE for Mac · SmartClean
If a SmartClean scan freezes, stops before it finishes, or causes Intego ONE to close, follow these steps in order. Move to the next section only if the previous one doesn’t help.
❶ Check permissions and close other apps
- Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access. Find Intego ONE and make sure the switch is on.
- Save your work, then close any apps you don’t need.
- If an app won’t close, open SmartClean > RAM or CPU, select the app, and choose Quit Selected. Only quit apps you recognize. Don’t quit macOS system processes.
- Run the SmartClean scan again.
➋ Update Intego ONE
- Go to Settings > General and click Check for updates manually. If an update is available, install it.
- Quit and reopen Intego ONE after the update finishes.
- Run the SmartClean scan again.
➌ Uninstall, restart, and reinstall
- Go to Help > Uninstall to fully remove the application.
- Go to the Apple menu > Shut Down, wait 30 seconds, then power your Mac back on.
- Sign in to My Account, go to Overview, and click Download to get the latest version of Intego ONE.
- Open the downloaded file and follow the instructions to reinstall Intego ONE.
- Before opening other apps, open Intego ONE and run the SmartClean scan again.
Still not resolved?
If the SmartClean scan still freezes or doesn’t finish, Generate a debug log report and submit a request and include:
- At what point the scan freezes — immediately, at a specific percentage, or on a specific file type.
- Whether Intego ONE stops responding completely or starts working again after you wait.
- Whether the scan has ever finished successfully.
- Whether the problem started immediately after you installed Intego ONE or began later.
