If the virus definitions won’t download or the update gets stuck, follow these steps in order. After each step, try the update again. Continue to the next step only if the problem remains.
❶ Check your connection and restart
Make sure your Mac is connected to the internet, then restart it.
➋ Manualy trigger a definitions update
- Open Intego ONE.
- Go to Settings > Antivirus.
- Select Check for updates manually.
- If an update is available, select Install Update.
➌ Restart your Mac
Restarting your Mac can fix a temporary problem that’s stopping the update.
- Save your work, then select Apple menu > Restart.
- After your Mac restarts, open Intego ONE.
- Go to Settings > General and select Check for updates manually again.
❹ Uninstall and Reinstall Intego ONE
If definitions are still stuck after the steps above, a clean reinstall can resolve corrupted files preventing the update.
- Open Intego ONE and select Help > Uninstall from the menu bar.
- Select Uninstall again, then enter your Mac administrator password when asked. You may need to enter it twice.
- Wait for the app to be removed.
- Sign in to My Account, then download and install the latest version of Intego ONE.
- Open the app and sign in.
- Go to Settings > General, then select Check for updates manually.
