Partway through installing Intego X9 or Intego ONE and got stopped by a password prompt you weren't expecting? Don't worry — it's not an Intego-specific password you need to look up. Here's what it actually wants from you.
What Password Should I Enter?
The password you need is your macOS administrator password — the same one you use to log in to your Mac or make changes in System Settings. Intego software doesn't have its own separate installation password; it simply needs permission at the operating system level to install and run properly.
Have a Mac with Touch ID? You can use your fingerprint to authenticate the installation instead of typing your password, if your Mac supports it.
Not Sure What Your Admin Password Is?
This is the same password used to unlock your Mac, install other software, or make changes in System Settings. If you've forgotten it, this is an Apple account/macOS-level password — not something Intego can reset for you. Apple has a guide on resetting your Mac's password if you need help recovering it.
Still Having Trouble?
If you're seeing a different kind of password prompt, or the installation still won't proceed after entering your admin password, contact Support and include:
- Which Intego product you're installing (X9 or ONE)
- The exact wording of the prompt you're seeing
- Whether Touch ID is available on your Mac, and whether you've tried it
