Creating and Managing Network Traffic Rules
This guide outlines two methods for managing network traffic rules within the application: using the automatic prompt or manually creating a Firewall Rule.
| Version Note |
These steps use Intego ONE Application version 1.2.0. Please note that the interface and specific steps may appear differently in newer versions. Updated: 03/02/2026 |
1. Automatic Traffic Filtering
When the Traffic Filtering Switch is enabled, the application automatically prompts you to create a network traffic rule whenever a new application or domain attempts to access your network.
- A pop-up notification will appear, allowing you to choose one of the following actions:
- Allow access to your Network.
- Deny access to your Network.
- Allow Only Once (by checking the designated option).
2. Manually Creating a Firewall Rule
You can also manually define a rule by navigating to the FireWall Main Dashboard.
- Select "Create" within the New Rule widget, located in the Accessory View section.
- Select the Application: Choose the application the rule will apply to.
- Select one of the three suggested applications (recently opened).
- Select "Any app" to apply the rule universally.
- Select "Other" to manually select a specific application from the pop-up window.
- Select one of the three suggested applications (recently opened).
- Select the Action: Determine how the rule should handle network access for the selected application:
- Allow: Grants network access.
- Ask: Prompts for permission each time network access is requested.
- Deny: Blocks network access.
- Select Traffic Direction: Choose the direction of network traffic the rule applies to:
- All (Incoming and Outgoing)
- Incoming
- Outgoing
- (Optional) Configure Advanced Settings: Further narrow down the rule by applying it to a specific:
- Website, Domain, or IP address.
- TCP/UDP port.
- Finalize Creation: Once all sections are configured, select "Create".
The new rule will then appear in the Traffic Control Settings.
