Quick Scan - targets key system areas like Downloads and temporary folders, focusing on files most susceptible to malware. This makes it a faster, yet efficient, alternative to a full system scan.
Performing a Quick Antivirus Scan and Managing Detected Threats
To initiate a Quick Scan:
1. Click the application icon in the taskbar.
2. Select the "Open" icon to display the application Dashboard.
3. Navigate to the Antivirus Settings.
4. In the Accessory View, select “Start” for the Quick Scan.
Monitoring the scan:
- A notification message will appear on the Content View section and the top right corner of the Dashboard, indicating that the app is waiting for scan results.
- An active counter will display the number of files being scanned.
- Within the View Section, you have options to Hide or Cancel the scan.
Reviewing Scan Results:
- After the scan finishes, the Content View updates with your Mac's status.
- If Threats are Detected:
- A (!) icon will appear along with the number of detected malware.
- The Content View results will offer the option to View the Results of your scan.
- A pop-up notification will also appear, detailing the flagged items and providing the option to Review the flagged file or acknowledge the flag by clicking “OK”.
Addressing Detected Threats (Quarantined Files):
- Selecting “View Results” opens the Quarantined Files setting.
- Here, you can review the flagged file and choose how to handle it:
- Repair
- Ignore
- Trust
