How Do I Get Protection for My Older Mac?

As Apple updates macOS almost every year, your Mac may eventually fall behind the minimum requirements for our latest software. Here's how to figure out what's right for your device.

Step 1: Check Your Mac's Compatibility

Intego ONE requires macOS 12.4 or later. If your Mac meets this requirement, Intego ONE is the right choice — it's our current, actively updated Mac security suite.

To check your macOS version: click the Apple menu > About This Mac.

Step 2: Find the Right Option for Your Mac

If your Mac runs macOS 12.4 or later:
Purchase Intego ONE directly — no additional steps needed.

If your Mac runs an older version of macOS:

  • Already an Intego X9 customer? Good news — you can continue using your existing Intego X9 subscription on your older Mac for as long as you need. There's no requirement to move to Intego ONE if your device isn't compatible with it.
  • Migrated to Intego ONE and realized afterward that your Mac doesn't meet the system requirements? If you migrated to Intego ONE before checking compatibility and find that your Mac doesn't meet the minimum macOS requirement, contact our Support team and they can assist with migrating your subscription back to Intego X9.
  • New to Intego, with an older, unsupported Mac? Unfortunately, we no longer offer Intego X9 for purchase on macOS, so there currently isn't a supported Intego product available for Macs older than macOS 12.4.
Note — Intego X9 is still available for Windows — if you also have a Windows PC to protect, you can purchase it directly at intego.com/products/windows-antivirus.
