Intego ONE General Interface

Understanding the navigation of any application is key to maximizing its potential. This article serves as your comprehensive guide to the general interface of the Intego ONE app, focusing on its core views: the Tray Menu, Home screen, General application layout, and Settings. These essential components provide a unified overview of the app's ongoing processes, allowing you to configure overall app settings based on your specific needs effortlessly. 

Tray Menu

The Intego ONE icon in the taskbar allows customers to quickly access and review their application settings and Mac’s overall health. The application's Tray menu provides access to:

  1. Protection Status - shows the status of your Mac and if there are no potential threats identified
  2. Start ONE scan - Tray Menu shortcut that initiates a virus scan
  3. Connect to the VPN - shortcut to connect to a server location from the Tray Menu
  4. RAM Usage - a percentage of RAM usage by running applications, providing a shortcut to close unnecessary apps that consume RAM.
  5. CPU Usage - indicates how much of a processor's capacity is being used to perform tasks at any given moment
  6. CPU Temp - shows real-time CPU temperature while the device is running 
  7. Free Startup Disk Space - displays the percentage of available space in your device storage
  8. Open Application Dashboard - shortcut that opens the Intego ONE app dashboard from the Tray Menu 

Home

You will be redirected to the Home upon logging in to your Intego ONE app. This dashboard is divided into three sections, as numbered in the sample image below:

  • Section 1 - quickly navigate to each feature using the navigation panel or the feature widgets in the middle section
  • Section 2 - displays feature statuses, Mac health, and identified threats/warnings.
  • Section 3 - ability to initiate a full scan or resolve threats (if identified)

General Application Layout

When selecting a feature, each feature page is broken down into three views for easy understanding and navigation:

  • Section 1: Summary - overview of the feature's statistics.
  • Section 2: Accessory View - displays quick actions, statistics, or related data
  • Section 3: Content View - displays feature-related actions or related data

Settings

The Settings dashboard allows users to configure the Intego ONE app to their preferences, not only the general settings of the app but also for each feature within it.

General

Within the Applications General settings, you can perform the following actions:

  1. General:
    1. Enable/disable automatic application updates.
    2. Manually check for available updates.
  2. Appearance:
    1. Customize the application's theme (Light, Dark, or System Theme).
    2. Enable/disable Application Icon within Menu Bar
  3. Security:
    1. Toggle the requirement for Administrator credentials when performing:
      1. Toggle Real-Time Scanning
      2. Add items to Safe list
      3. Toggle Firewall filtering
  4. Product Improvement:
    1. Opt-in to share limited, anonymous usage data to improve Intego products.
    2. Restore All Settings to Default

Antivirus

  1. Within the Applications Antivirus settings, you can perform the following actions:
    1. Enable or disable  Real-Time threat detection.
  2. Scan Settings:
    1. Enable or disable antivirus scans for:
      1. Emails.
      2. Scans for volumes upon mounting.
  3. Detect Settings:
    1. Enable or disable antivirus scans to detect or ignore Windows malware during scans.
  4. Option Settings:
    1. Enable or Disable the options to:
      1. Run Power-Saving Mode
      2. Scan Archived files
      3. Play a sound to alert to scan completion or threat detection.
  5. Virus Definitions:
    1. Manually Check for updates to Virus Definitions

Firewall

Within the Applications Firewall settings, you can allow inbound and outbound connections for applications from the following sources:

  1. Allow Network Connections:
    1. Apple-published applications: Highly recommended. Disabling this exposes the user to the risk of blocking system processes, which can cause machine misbehavior.
    2. Intego-published applications: Recommended. Blocking connections from Intego products may compromise security (e.g., if malware definition updates are affected).
    3. Applications downloaded from the Mac App Store.
    4. Applications signed with an Apple-validated certificate: This option is for users who prefer not to validate software individually. Alerts will still be raised for unsigned processes.
  2. Notifications:
    1. Toggle the option to receive alerts when an application attempts to connect to the internet for the first time.

SmartClean

Within the Applications SmartClean settings, you can choose to auto-clean these Junk file types:

  • Caches
  • Logs
  • Downloads
  • Trash

These rules apply to unused files older than 14 or 30 days.
